Trevor Albert is a film producer and abstract painter from Los Angeles California. Majoring in visual arts and communications at UC San Diego, Albert worked his way through college as a journalist for the San Diego Reader, later moving to LA to pursue a film career. For over 20 years Albert was partnered with comedic legend Harold Ramis and together they made a series of beloved comedies including National Lampoon’s Vacation, Multiplicity and Groundhog Day to name a few. Albert went on to start his own film production company where he produced a series of successful films including The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the beloved children’s film Because of Winn Dixie, and the Academy Award® nominated documentary, Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me, which follows the iconic musician Campbell on his unprecedented tour across America, after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. In 2015, Albert was asked by Second City, the legendary comedy institution, to start a film school in Chicago for comedic storytellers- and The Harold Ramis Film School was born. Albert served as the chairman of the highly innovative school from 2015 – 2020.
Throughout Albert’s 30 plus years as a filmmaker he has never stopped painting. He has enjoyed the contrasts between the discipline of traditional linear film making with the highly improvisational nature of abstract painting. Albert now paints full time from his studio in
Los Angeles, California. He has most recently shown at ARCANE Space in February 2023 arcanespacela.com/living-dangerously.
